The House of Commons Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Security Program Administrator position.

The Organization:
The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security assumes a ceremonial role; ensures efficient management of communications and information provided by the SAA-CS; maintains an effective liaison with clients, partners and the general public and manages the Memorial Chamber.

The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is responsible for providing critical corporate management services (e.g. leading strategic, business, financial, human resources and operational planning; monitoring, evaluation, policy coordination and oversight) and acts as a corporate change agent to continuously enhance the SAA-CS’s business performance and management practices.

About the Role:
In this position, you will provide logistical support and coordination in the administration of security programs/projects, and performs a range of administrative services and tasks to meet the objectives and priorities of the Security organization. You will coordinate and manage incoming information; conduct, prepare and revise the departmental schedule/calendar, correspondence, briefing notes and various reports. This position provides administrative and records management support to the team and also provides overall office management support to ensure its smooth functioning. You will process, coordinate and track the receipt and distribution of project work plans, schedules and reports to facilitate the on-time delivery of projects as required.

The Ideal Person:
The ideal person is well organized, possesses the ability to manage multiple requirements and maintains composure under stressful situations. You possess strong logistical, analytical skills, time management and effective communication skills, both written and oral. You are proficient in office administration and familiar with project management concept.

Prerequisites:      

Education– College diploma in an administrative field or acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Experience– Extensive experience in providing logistical and administrative support to a multidisciplinary team, Experience in managing a budget, forecasting and preparing variance reports; Experience managing correspondence and the calendar of a senior manager; Experience in supporting/coordinating with subject matter experts in the field of project management and procurement; Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel.

Asset– Experience in the security domain.
